Background
Cher is an actress and music artist who began her stardom in the 1980’s. She went on to show women to love their bodies and themselves, and to have confidence to believe that they are worth much more than any man might say. Cher is a well known actress who has given women the chance to change their future in acting and career life. Cher was born in 1946 in El Centro, California. She was born to a poor family who struggled to get along in life. When she was 16 she left school and headed off to Hollywood. She then went on to meet Salvatore “Sonny” Bono who was good friends with the producer Phil Spector.

Cher then began her signing career with Sonny, being known as Sonny and Cher. She hit it big when she got into popularity, and she eventually left to begin a solo career. Financial difficulties slowed the process of success for Cher, but she was pushing through. Later on, because of a divorce with Sonny, she persued an acting career.
The 1980s were a huge focal point for Cher as an actress. She started off in smaller stage productions such as Come Back to the 5 and Dime. Bigger productions of hers included the films Silkwood and Mask. These productions included stars such as Meryl Streep.

Cher was a woman who was not afraid to show some skin. She was known for wearing outfits that just left the bare minimum covered. She was a woman who stood up for women to be a powerful figure. She knew her looks got people interested, but she did it to show others that she wasn’t afraid to be a woman and be proud of her body and was she’s accomplished.
