Background
Warren Moon was born in Los Angeles, as the middle child among his six sisters. His father, Harold, was a laborer and died of liver disease when Moon was seven years old. His mother, Pat, was a nurse, and Moon learned to cook, sew, iron and house keep to help take care of the family. Before playing in the NFL Warren Moon Played in Canadian Football league on the Edmonton Eskimos. From The Canadian Football league Moon went to go play for 5 different National Football League teams. These teams were the Houston Oilers, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs.

Impact
Warren Moon was the first Black quarterback to play in the NFL. Although while playing in college is very clear that he was the best quarterback to be selected NFL teams at the time did not believe an African American could play the quarterback position. so instead of going to the NFL Moon decided to go to the CFL where he later said " “Nobody had given me a private workout,” “I was bitter. My own country did not want me, but another country did". After dominating the CFL for a number of years the Warren Moon finally got his chance to play in the NFL for the Houston Oilers
